Analog Telephone Instructions: NT8009

To Answer an Incoming Call

When your telephone is ringing, lift the handset. You are connected to your caller.

To Place a Call

Lift the handset, listen for the dial tone, then dial your call.

To Place a Call on Hold

Press the HOLD key (the light will flash). To retrieve the call on hold, pick up the handset.

To Transfer a Call

Press the LINK key and dial the number to which you are transferring the call. You can stay on the line to announce the call if you wish. Hang up to transfer the caller. If you cannot complete the transfer, press the LINK key to get your dial tone back and the HOLD/RETRIEVE pre-programmed speed call key to return to the original caller.

To Make a Conference Call

Dial the first person (internal or external). Press the LINK key. Dial the next person (internal or external). Press the LINK key followed by the CONFERENCE pre-programmed speed call key. You are now on a three-party call. To add additional parties (up to 7) follow the above procedure. If the number is busy or not answered, press the LINK key and the HOLD/RETRIEVE pre-programmed speed call key to return to your original call. Hang up to exit from a conference call.

To Answer a Ringing Phone in Your Group

Lift the handset and dial *5. You are now connected to the caller.

To Have a Busy (or Unanswered) Phone "Call You Back"

If you reach a busy signal (or if there is no answer) when you call another local telephone, press 1, and replace the handset. When the other phone is available, your telephone will ring with a distinctive triple ring. When you pick up the handset, you will hear ringing which results from a call being placed to the telephone that has initiated call back. To cancel all call backs, lift the handset and press *1.

Last Number Redial

Press the REDIAL key and the last number will dial automatically.

Call Forwarding

To forward all of your calls to another phone, press the CALL FORWARD-ALWAYS pre-programmed speed call key and the extension number to which the calls are to go. Hang up. (Notify the person to whom you have forwarded your calls that you have done so.) To cancel call forwarding, lift the handset and press the CALL FORWARD-ALWAYS pre-programmed speed call key and hang up. All calls will now ring at your telephone.

Other Call Forwarding Options

Call Forward - Busy (Internal and External Calls)

To activate call forwarding for a busy condition, press *32 + the extension number. To cancel Call Forward - BUSY simply press *32.

Call Forward - No Answer (Internal and External Calls)

To activate Call Forwarding when there is no answer, press *35 + the extension number. To cancel the feature, press *35
