Change coming for VPN access

Posted on Friday, March 2, 2018

On April 4, we will be changing authentication for VPN access at the University so that it will require your uoAccess credentials.

Though not all of our procedures are ready, we want to give you the opportunity to try it out now on the Windows platform. Eventually, you will also be able to make the change for the macOS, iOS, and Android platforms.

We encourage you to make this change now, ahead of the April 4 changeover date:

  1. Have the right VPN client: Ensure you have the University’s latest VPN client for Windows, Cisco’s AnyConnect client
  2. Type the URL: Open the AnyConnect client, click where the Remote_Access group is displayed, enter the URL, then click on Connect
  3. Enter your uoAccess credentials: Disregard the instructions in the pop-up window and instead enteryour uoAccess credentials.

You’re now set up with the new authentication and won’t need to do anything on April 4 for your Windows machine.
