Portrait of Carine Ouedraogo
What is your job title?

Digital Communications and Change Management Officer

How do you see your role going forward?

My role is to implement communications and change management strategies to manage structural changes in the University to facilitate these changes. I assist Information Technology in introducing, promoting projects and facilitating their acceptance within the services and faculties of uOttawa.

Where did you complete your studies?

I have a master’s degree in communications, marketing and commercial strategies that I obtained from a business school in France, L’Institut des hautes Etudes Economiques et Commerciales (INSEEC).

What is your unknown/hidden talent?

I don’t know if it’s a hidden talent but I have a strong sense of justice. I can’t stand injustice, either at work or in everyday life. I always try to uphold fairness and equitability.

What is the best advice you’ve been given?

Your parents’ wealth is not your wealth. You must always give yourself the means to achieve your goals.

If you could snap your fingers and become an expert in something, what would it be?

I’d become an expert in hotel management and open my own hotel. This dream came to me during a trip to Togo (West Africa). I really liked a hotel where my parents and I were staying. I told myself: when I have enough money, I will open a luxury hotel in Africa that mixes African and Indian cultures.

What three words would your friends use to describe you?

Definitely a good listener, positive and honest.
