New Appointment - Chief Information Officer

Memorandum from the Vice-President, Resources, P. Marc Joyal

Dear colleagues,

I am pleased to inform you that Mr. Martin Bernier has been appointed Chief Information Officer. Mr. Bernier will take office on April 2, 2018.

He has 25 years of experience in information technology, including 15 years as

Chief Information Technology Officer in private and public organizations. Mr. Bernier comes to us from the Canadian Institutes of Health Research where he was performing similar functions.

Mr. Bernier holds an MBA in Information Technology Management and a Bachelor of Science in Software Development and Telecommunications. In addition, he holds a Certificate in Public Management and Governance.

The selection committee is convinced that, through his collaborative approach, vast experience and innovation, Mr. Bernier will be able to successfully fulfill his mandate of leading, planning, supervising, developing and coordinating the technological environment, computer applications and the security of digital information for the whole institution.

I would like to sincerely thank Michel Lapointe for his excellent work as Acting Chief Information Officer. Michel will continue acting until April 2, 2018.
