New Dell agreement for Computing Devices and Services

Posted on Monday, August 28, 2017

Information Technology recently concluded an agreement with Dell for the University’s computing device requirements. This new negotiated agreement will provide significant discounts off the list prices for desktops and laptops.

We have upgraded the recommended models to the newer available versions and have also included additional models. These models have good performance, are available at a lower price, and will offer additional choices for uOttawa employees.

The new agreement also provides added benefits:

  • Try and Buy Program – Dell will send models to clients to try out before they buy
  • Performance Management Scorecard - Quarterly reviews of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and/or Service Level Agreement (SLA) compliance
  • Servers and Dell IT services
  • Dedicated Client Resource: Support for daily client activities

Continued benefits from previous contract (negotiated by Procurement)

  • Lemon Clause for products that have repeated service issues
  • Three-year warranty on all desktops and laptops (OECM negotiated)
