Protecting Data from an IM, IT Security, and Privacy Perspective

Join us for an expert panel discussion of university experts regarding the protection of the University’s most valuable (and vulnerable) asset, its DATA, from an Information Management, IT Security, and Privacy perspective. Each expert will explain their role within the University, emerging threats, and how you can help the University in protecting its data. Following the presentation, the floor will be open for questions and answers.

Let’s take a look at a few of Zoom’s different functions, which might come in handy throughout your studies. Zoom is the online platform most commonly used by professors to give lectures. This platform also allows you to share content, or give or host presentations in a variety of ways. Come and push the limit of what you can do with Zoom. Join our discussion this Wednesday!

He will talk about the importance of cyber security, how to protect your home and family, and why everyone has a role to play in protecting the University. You will be provided with some specific examples and tips that you can use every day. You will also have the opportunity to ask questions and be engaged in the discussion.

Data Security Seminar

October 27 | Professors | 10 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. | Online

Be aware. Stay secure. Join Jarno van der Kolk to learn more about the tools you can use to prevent the theft of your data and possibly of your identity. Other topics of discussion will include common hacking attempts, how to recognize them, and how to avoid having your data compromised, stolen, or destroyed. We will also talk about data encryption and provide tips for when travelling with electronic devices.
