Our University community is navigating unchartered waters as we migrate to temporary work measures and teleworking.
We trust that you will be able to get set up wherever you are located. As we adapt, we must ensure everyone can access the key tools and information that are essential to our day-to-day work. One of these is the University VPN (AnyConnect).
VPN facilitates a secure connection to the uOttawa network and resources. However, you do not need a VPN connection to work remotely or for common applications such as email, Microsoft Teams, OneDrive, Brightspace, etc. Visit Working Remotely for more information.
VPN is only required if you need to:
- access one of the applications that require VPN
- use Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI)
- enable a Remote Desktop connection (RDC)
- access secured resources at uOttawa
Please make sure to limit your VPN connection to these essential services and tasks. Remember to disconnect when you don’t need VPN. Although we have increased the capacity of the VPN network for working remotely, your judicious use of VPN helps everyone have consistent access to the tools and resources they need to work remotely.
