Winter 2017 Webmasters’ meeting recap

Over 20 webmasters attended the Webmasters meeting on March 1, 2017. The following provides a brief overview of the meeting.

Opening Remarks

Pierre Bercy (Web Developer, Information Technology) welcomes everyone and asks new webmasters to introduce themselves.


  • Philippe Morin presents himself as the new Application Manager for the Corporate Web team.
  • Philippe reviews recent team changes: Bryan Miller’s (Application Manager) move to the uoZone/VIrtuO team, William Roboly (Application Manager) has taken on a new project, and Rajesh Dawar is the acting Information Technology Manager for Web Services (both the uoWeb and uoZone teams). He also mentions that the three application managers, Rajesh and Lino Amato (Acting Director of IT Solutions for Web Services, Technical Development, Academic Services and Planning) are in the process of working on a roadmap.

Round Table

Various webmasters talk about their projects and changes to their site. There is a group discussion around some of the shared issues with uoWeb.

Update on the recent releases

Zachary Read (Web Developer) reviews six highlights of the previous releases, showing examples of what has changed and how to use certain new features. He also speaks to the upcoming Norway release. Details about the previous releases are available online:

Accessibility exercise

Zachary passes a paper exercise and a group exercise to spot all of the accessibility issues, the formatting issues and the content issues were undertaken. A copy of the exercise is below; can you spot all 21 issues?
