Q. What is my @uOttawa.ca account used for?

A. Your @uOttawa.ca email account is used for official University communications. This email account is used by professors to send you information about your courses and by staff to send you new bulletins, notices and information about your academic file.

Q. What is my initial @uOttawa.ca password?

A. Your initial @uOttawa.ca account password will be sent to your personal email account (Gmail, Hotmail, etc...) within 48 hours after you register for your first course. If you experience any difficulties accessing your uOttawa email account, contact the Service Desk at 613-562-5800, ext. 6555.

Q. How do I obtain a new password?

A. You can reset your password for your central computer accounts by following the instructions on changing your password.

Q. How can I access my @uOttawa.ca email?

A. Go to www.g.uottawa.ca and enter your username and password.

Q. How do I print from a lab on campus?

A. A system of laser printers and a print server allow you to print from most locations on campus (public labs, UNIX workstations, etc.). Simply send your file for printing to one of the RELMON self-serve printers. Detailed information about printing services on campus.

Q. How do I change the keyboard language?

A. Click on the language indicator (EN or FR) in your taskbar near the bottom right-hand corner of your screen. Select EN or FR.

Q. How do I get a computer account?

A. You already have an account for many computer labs on campus. Depending on your program of study, however, you may have access to other labs as well. For example, if you are registered in an ADM course, you automatically have an account at the School of Management computer lab. If you are registered in a CSI course, you automatically have an account at the School of Information Technology and Engineering computer lab (CUBE). There are computers open to all students, regardless of their Faculty or program at the Morisset library, 65 University. Accounts for these computers are automatically created for all students registered in a course at the University.

Q. Where are the computer labs on campus?

A. There is a public computer lab open to all students in Morisset Hall, see locations and hours of other labs on campus.
