uoAccess credentials allow you to authenticate and access many websites, applications and systems at the University of Ottawa. There are two parts: an ID and a password.
Your uoAccess ID
Your uoAccess ID is the short name before your @uOttawa.ca email address (e.g.: jsmit000). It excludes any aliases or full name email addresses linked to an account.
For example, for the email account firstname.lastname@example.org, the following are not valid uoAccess IDs:
- John.Smith: even if the full name email address “John.Smith@uOttawa.ca” has been created for the account jsmit000@uOttawa.ca
- JohnS: even if an alias “JohnS@uOttawa” has been linked to the account jsmit000@uOttawa.ca
Your uoAccess password
- Employees: your uoAccess password is the same one used for systems such as Outlook/Exchange, VirtuO, and UNIWeb.
- Students: your uoAccess password is the same one used for systems such as Google, uoZone, and Library applications.
